CLEAN ENERGY: THE NEED OF HOUR by BHAWANA YADAV

Whenever we talk about renewable energy we never forget to mention clean energy and green energy. But we often get confused between these three terms. Clean energy is often spoken in the same sense as green energy. There is a very subtle difference. Clean energy produces power without releasing any harmful air pollutants, like greenhouse gases, while green energy is produced from renewable sources i.e. natural sources. So it’s safe to say that in all a lot of clean energy is renewable but, all renewable energy is not clean.

Like any other energy, clean energy is also technology-oriented but it produces next to no negative impacts on the environment. Clean energy provides a variety of benefits and amidst rapidly rising global warming it is a blessing. Now the benefits of clean energy don’t just only limit to the environment but exceed to provide impressive economical benefits too. There is no need for too much cost investments in the production of renewable energy since the sources are naturally available, it reduces dependence on imported fuels such as coal or fuels, and a big plus point the resources replenish on their own.

Now there are far too many useful applications of clean energy from electricity generation to heating water, all depending on the source of energy. Some of the prime examples of clean energy are solar energy, wind energy, hydropower, etc.

Solar energy, the energy produced using sunlight is a very effective way of producing clean energy. Solar energy can be used for generating electricity, heating, lighting, and more. Using solar panels to convert sunlight into power is the most efficient and infamous way. Many people use solar panels for home purposes. Today solar panels are highly used by governments to save electricity as they use solar panels on street lights or some general public places. The demand for solar energy usage is increasing day by day.

Water is another resource which is another good source of clean and renewable energy. The type of energy is produced in hydroelectric power plants, where they use the flow of water from rivers, lakes, streams, and even the tidal waves of oceans for the production of electricity.

We all know about the windmills, seen them too. Windmills are used to generate power using the speed of the winds. Windmills are attached to generators and turbines which move with the flow of the air and generate electricity. Wind power is being used for ages now from fieldwork to mechanical tasks, but now is used more often to produce electricity, be it in agricultural farms or anywhere needed.

Clean energy is the future. There is no denying it. As reliance on fossil fuels continues to diminish, clean energy appears to be a healthy step towards a better future.
